We use Schemes, plural, not a single scheme. They overlap and contradict. The brain is very complex, very inefficient, very conditioned by a heterogenous experience. Part of learning (the strength of infants’ stimuli) is conditioning, homogenizing the experience. And learning continues this function beyond this time. But its success is only partial.
